宋子文(1894一1971)是宋氏家族中一个举足轻重的人物。他是宋家悉心栽培的长子,宋霭龄之弟,宋美龄之兄,哈佛大学硕士毕业,哥伦比亚大学博士毕业,教育背景显赫。归国步人政坛后,历任国民党中央常委、、国民政府行政院长、财政部长、外交部长等职,在财政和外交方面大展雄才。这样的宋子文,难免自视甚高,虽然在内政外交上对妹夫蒋介石颇多助益,但与蒋介石也常有争执.加上完全受西式教育。个性倔强,不懂中国人情世故,故而并不像宋霭龄丈夫孔祥熙那样深得蒋介石之心。乃至蒋在日记中常批评这个宋家长
