1941年11月16日是郭沫若五十寿辰暨创作生活二十五周年。重庆各界发起纪念,延安、广西、桂林、香港、新加坡等地热烈响应。13日,重庆《新民报》率先作了报道,从此拉开了“寿郭沫若”活动的序幕,先后举办了纪念茶会、纪念会、诗歌研讨会、展览会……《新华日报》、《新民报》、《中央日报》、《商务日报》、《国民公报》、《新蜀报》、《时事新报》、《扫荡报》、《益世报》、《解放日报》、《广西日报》、《星洲日报》、《中苏文化》、《抗战文艺》等报刊对庆祝活动作了广泛报道。16日,散发了郭沫若创作生活二十五周年纪念会筹备会印发的《郭沫若先生创作生活二十五周年纪念会特刊》。特刊刊载了“缘起”、小传,顾一樵、许世英、冯玉祥、董必武、沈钧儒、马衡、苏联大使、代办,对外文化协会主席凯缅诺夫等个人及团体的贺柬、贺诗。以及郭沫若自己编写的《五十年简谱》等,还公布了《郭沫若文化科学研究所创立纲要》、《郭沫若先生文化劳作二十五年纪念学术丛书编刊则例》。纪念活动是中国现代文学史文化史上具有重大意义、影响深远的活动。可以毫不夸张地说:它是一次文艺文化队伍的大检阅!它是一次统一战线工作的大成功!它是一次向形形色色反动派的大示威!……为了研究者们的方便,现将“特刊”中的有关材料选刊如下:
