天津艺术教育进修学院是在1998年6月经天津市教委正式批准的艺术教育办学机构,由天津人民美术出版社创建。天津人民美术出版社社长刘建平同志担任院长,中国书法家协会名誉主席启功先生为名誉院长并为学院题名。自2000年上半年开设函授班以来,已有全国各地及新加坡、马来西亚的学员三百多人参加学习,其中年龄最大的75岁,最小的只有7岁,在学院教授和讲师的具体指导下,学员的绘画技法、技巧不断提高。2002年10月16日至20日在天津举办的“函授班首届学员作品展”虽然是办学中新的尝试,但收到了非常大的效果。在展览的开幕式上刘建平院长讲话,首先祝贺学员作品展的开幕。他指出:天津人民美术出版社创办学校这在全国是首家。办学的目的
Tianjin Art Education and Training Institute was established in June 1998 by the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission formally approved the art education institutions, founded by the Tianjin People’s Fine Arts Publishing House. Mr. Liu Jianping, president of Tianjin People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, served as president, and Mr. Qiang Gong, honorary chairman of China Calligraphers Association, was the honorary president and named the college.
