2005年上半年捷克陆军决定购买234辆新型装甲车,以加速部队装备的现代化。这是捷克历史上最大的一次军购行动,捷军为此将花费200多亿克朗(约合10亿美元)。捷克目前装备的OT-64型装甲车已服役40年,大部分车辆已经不能使用。奥地利施泰尔-戴姆勒-普赫公司已在捷克军方就采购新型装甲车所举行的招标中胜出。按照奥捷双方达成的协议,捷克将购买199辆“劫掠者”Ⅱ装甲车,另有增购35辆的可能。“劫掠者”Ⅱ装甲车的交付工作将从2006年开始并一直持续到2012年。捷克是继葡萄牙之后第二个装备“劫掠者”II8×8装甲车的国家。该车将装备以色列拉斐尔公司研制的RCWS-30遥控武器站。据施泰尔联合公司称,至少90%的车辆底盘将在捷克VOP025军工厂生产。
In the first half of 2005, the Czech Army decided to purchase 234 new armored vehicles to speed up the modernization of military equipment. This is the largest military campaign in the history of the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic will spend over 200 billion korunas (about 1 billion U.S. dollars) for this purpose. The OT-64 armored vehicles currently in service in the Czech Republic have been in service for 40 years and most of the vehicles are no longer available. The Steier-Daimler-Puch Company of Austria won the bidding for the Czech military for the purchase of new armored vehicles. According to the agreement reached by both Austrian Czech Republic, the Czech Republic will purchase 199 “Flayers” II armored vehicles, another purchase of 35 vehicles may be. The delivery of the “looters” II armored vehicles will start in 2006 and continue through 2012. The Czech Republic is the second country following Portugal to equip the “Flayers” II8 × 8 armored vehicles. The car will be equipped with Israeli Rafael company RCWS-30 remote control weapons station. According to Steyr Associates, at least 90% of the vehicle chassis will be manufactured at the VOP025 military factory in the Czech Republic.
