中国艺术家放洋留学起于本世纪初,第一代留学生对中国艺术发展的功绩已有定论,现仍健在的也早已成了艺坛泰斗。二次大战后仍有人不断西游求艺,五十年代后更有一批台湾的新进陆续到海外寻求发展,使中国人的名字渐渐出现于西方画廊之中。近十年来,由于国内的开放,由大陆出来的艺术家显著地增加,到今天已形成一支可观的队伍。这对中国艺术之走向世界,不啻壮大了声势。 我同意有些识者之见:中国艺术家在世界艺坛的成功,
