4月27日,里根总统在中国访问的第二天,我在下午四点多到长城饭店参加美方在新闻中心举行的“吹风”会。“吹风”开始之前,我同美国一家地方报纸的记者闲聊。他告诉我,在到达北京以后的一天多时间里,他已经发回去四篇稿子了。当我问他参加了哪几项采访活动时,他回答说:“除了昨天下午的欢迎仪式外,别的采访都没有参加,因为我不在那几个‘普尔’里。”
On April 27, on the second day President Reagan’s visit to China, I went to the Great Wall Hotel at four o’clock in the afternoon to attend the “blowing-out” meeting held by the U.S. side at the Information Center. Before the “blowing”, I chatted with a reporter from a local newspaper in the United States. He told me that he had sent back to the four drafts a long time after he arrived in Beijing. When I asked him what interview events he participated in, he replied: “Except for the welcome ceremony yesterday afternoon, none of the other interviews were attended because I was not in those ’Poole.’”
