在中国近现代社会转型的历史进程中,作为大众媒介的报纸、杂志、书籍等扮演着十分重要的角色,一定程度上构成了现代社会的公共舆论空间。《大公报》是中国现代一份富有影响力的报纸,其20世纪30年代的《文艺》副刊充分发挥了公共舆论空间的多重功能,对现代文学的繁荣起到了重要作用。《大公报·文艺》深度介入到当时的文学领域,在文学思潮和文学论争、文学评奖机制的制定和文学审美标准的倡导以及具体的文学批评活动中都无一例外地显示了自己强大的力量。这在实质上是中国现代自由知识分子利用公共舆论空间实现自己文学理想的一次成功实践。
In the historical process of the transition of modern society in China, newspapers, magazines and books as the mass media play an important role and to a certain extent form the public opinion space in modern society. Ta Kung Pao is an influential newspaper in modern China. Its supplement of literature and art in the 1930s gave full play to the multiple functions of public opinion space and played an important role in the prosperity of modern literature. Ta Kung Pao literature and art was deeply intervening in the field of literature at that time. Both of them displayed their own powerful force in the literary thought and literary controversy, the establishment of the mechanism of literary awards, the advocacy of literary aesthetic standards, and the specific literary criticism. This is essentially a successful practice by which modern Chinese free intellectuals use the public opinion space to realize their own literary ideal.
