学习一种外语不仅要掌握语音、语法、词汇,而且还要知道使用这种语言的人如何看待事物,如何观察世界;要了解他们如何用他们的语言来反映他们社会的思想、习惯、行为;要懂得他们的“心灵之语言”,即了解他们社会的文化。实际上英语习语正是民族文化的结晶,本文通过英语习语与中文习语的比较,加深对英语民族文化的了解,从而提高跨文化的语言交际能力。
Learn a foreign language not only to grasp the pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, but also know how people who use this language to look at things, how to observe the world; to understand how they use their language to reflect their social thoughts, habits, behaviors; Understand their “spiritual language,” that is, understand the culture of their society. In fact, English idioms are just the crystallization of national culture. This article deepens the understanding of English national culture through comparing English idioms with Chinese idioms, so as to improve intercultural language communicative competence.
