对于一个不掌握其修正方式与修正量的摆线轮,想要通过精确测量和电算迅速而准确地判定其齿形修正方式与修正量,首先必须建立一个能概括各种通用修正方式的摆线轮齿形方程式。我们把和标准针轮相啮合,而没有间隙的摆线轮齿形叫做标准齿形。若选择摆线轮的几何中心作为原点,选择通过原点并与摆线齿轮间的对称轴重合的轴线作为X轴,见图1所示,则摆线轮的标准齿形方程可写为如下形式:
