诞生于张家港金港镇后塍的雷沟大布已走过了400多年的历史,在清代乾隆年间达到了顶峰,当时雷沟大布的生产工艺已非常领先,布料质地紧密且经久耐用,经土法印染成青蓝、铁灰、墨黑等多种颜色的花纹图案。然而,随着工业化浪潮的巨大冲击,改良滞后的雷沟大布逐渐走向了衰落。2009年,金陵纺织有限公司被选为非物质文化遗产雷沟大布的传承单位,开始了对雷沟大布进行保护传承和发展的使命。
