It reports the incidence and trends of pancreatic cancer and acute and chronic pancreatitis in Japan over the past 40 years and compared it with other countries to understand the trend of pancreatic disease in Japan. The research data come from the vital statistics and disease investigation report. The results showed that: (1) In Japan, malignant tumors are the first cause of death in various diseases. Taking the 1995 statistics as an example, there were 262,952 cases of malignant neoplasms in which 16,019 cases were pancreatic cancer. There was no significant difference in gender between the two groups after gastric cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and colon cancer. Overall, since 1960, the death toll and crude death rate of pancreatic cancer both continue to increase in both sexes. For example, the number of deaths from pancreatic cancer in Japan in 1960 was 1150 males and 825 females, with crude mortality rates of 2.5
