盖叫天(1888-1971)本名张英杰，号燕南，河北高阳县人。著名京剧表演艺术家，一代京剧宗师。8岁学艺，工武生，10岁登台，师承南派武生创始人李春来，又不断发展创新，集众家所长，以他对艺术锲而不舍，精益求精，几十年如一日勤学苦练，刻苦钻研，逐渐形成了独具特色的“盖派”艺术，有“江南活武松”之美誉。虽经17岁折臂，47岁断腿等跌宕，但以其惊人毅力葆舞台青春至78岁，把“学到老”奉为座右铭。作为短打武生的盖派艺术，着重人物精神境界的展现，精髓是“武戏文唱”，即把武功隐含在骨子里，呈现给观众的则是轻松、利索的雕塑美。代表作有《武松》、《三岔口》、《一箭仇》、《黑虎村》、《垓下之战》等。1959年起担任浙江艺术学校艺术顾问，1962年春收学生张志明、赵炳良及陈幼亭为正式弟子。历任第三届全国人大代表，第三届浙江省政协委员，浙江省戏剧家协会主席。周传瑛(1912—1988)江苏苏州人，著名昆剧表演艺术家和戏曲教育家，“传”字辈中的佼佼者。二十世纪在戏剧界为颇有影响的梨园人物。从艺六十余年，造诣精深，享有剧坛“独步”之美称。其身段表演更是出神入化，妙若天成，有“翎子、扇子、褶子三子唯传瑛”之盛誉。“一出戏救活一个剧种”的昆剧《十五贯》由其参加整理改编和主演。1960年后，浙江艺术学校首届昆剧班划归浙江昆剧团代培。身为团长的周传瑛亲自负责执教，培育了王奉梅、陶伟民、陶波、何炳泉、张志明等一批“秀”字辈的的优秀演员。他热爱昆剧事业，一生奉献，为昆剧的振兴和发展奠定了坚实的基础。1956年光荣加入中国共产党，历任浙江省政协常委、中国文联委员、浙江省文联常委、中国戏剧家协会理事和浙江省剧协副主席、名誉主席等职。
