In 1958, Reinrt and Steward first discovered embryoid bodies in carrot tissue culture respectively, but the concept of “artificial seeds” was not reported in the literature until 20 years later. At the Fourth International Plant Organization Training Conference held in Canada in 1987, T. Murashige first proposed the concept of “artificial seeds.” Since then, many scientists have turned their attention to the study of artificial seeds. The so-called “artificial seed” means that the somatic cells of a plant are induced into a somatic embryo that is similar in morphology and physiology to the zygotic embryo through tissue culture technology, and the somatic embryo is then embedded in a medium with certain nutrients and protective functions (Including “artificial endosperm”, “artificial seed coat”, etc.) composed of easy to broadcast
