沈阳师范大学职业技术教育学科是近年来根据职业教育事业发展需要进行重点建设的特色学科,于2006年3月获得硕士学位授予权,2008年9月被推选为全国职业技术教育学硕士研究生培养协作组成员单位,以该学科为依托的“职业教育专业建设与人才培养模式研究基地”2009年被遴选为辽宁省教育科学规划重点研究基地。学科点具体建设单位为沈阳师范大学教育科学学院职业教育研究所,该研究机构是中国职业技术教育学会理事
