Based on the data of geology and geophysics, this paper argues that the non-mirror image of the modern crustal structures in northern North China and the gravity anomaly are related to the horizontal compression caused by the subduction of the Pacific plate along the northeastern Japan arc groove. Since the Pliocene, the evolution of the Argillaceae from Mariana to Chilean arc groove changed the mechanical properties of the unified North China-Japan kinematic unit boundary and was the main factor of the evolution of stress field in North China. The increased collision of the Indian plate with the Asian plate since the Pliocene caused the eastward divergence of the Asian plate and increased the force on the western and southwestern borders of North China, resulting in significant changes in the tectonic stress field in North China within millions of years .
