1985年10月南京汽车制造厂从英国引进的三千吨、四千吨两台压力机,其中特大件为183吨和202吨。这是南京地区有史以来,第一次遇到这样特大形部件的运输,途中有一座石拱桥载重量不够,我院道桥渡教研室,经过反复测量、计算、方案比较,选定在小岗下原桥南侧,利用装配式公路钢桥架设一座军用低水桥。桥梁上部结构为单层双排装配式公路钢桥桁架,跨度为3米,桥梁全长33水,车行道宽度4米,横梁结构上进行加强。桥梁下部结构采取木质单式列柱桥脚,每排列柱桥脚由7根单桩组成。
