Abstract Aim To demonstrate that the clinically observed decrease in ADC values of MR diffusion-weighted imaging correlates with the increased Gleason pathological grade in prostate cancer due to the increase in the volume of epithelial cells with low diffusivity and the corresponding high interstitial cell density The reduction in volume and cell space, but not the increase in cell density.
