球墨铸铁凸轮轴的焊修是延安汽车修理厂一直没有得到解决的生产关键。过去,工厂曾经用冷焊方法来堆焊凸轮,但是在焊缝金属中产生大量气孔。堆焊金属很硬很脆,无法进行钳工加工。焊后引起凸轮轴的很大变形。去年十一月下旬,工厂同志和交通大学教师一起在厂党委支持下,经过七天苦战,十几次试验,克服了上述困难,凸轮轴的焊修已经得到的完满的解决。球墨铸铁中含有0.03~0.04%少量的镁。微量的镁使液体金属冷却下来时比灰铸铁更容易出现莱氏体组织——白口。为了避免白口,采用高硅灰铸铁焊丝,焊接
