语文课程的目的是使学习者获得用语言来建构、创造意义,进而发展健全的心智世界的能力,获得用语言来传达信息、认识世界、表现心灵的能力。比较是人类重要的思考形式,比较能力是心智世界的一部分,如果这一能力是通过语言学习来获得的,这一获得的过程,就是语文教育的过程。据此,儿童文学阅读应引入比较教学法,几种典型的操作形式有:一篇文章内的比较、文章与文章之间的比较、好作品与坏作品的比较、词语与词语的比较。
