明末清初,耶稣会士们因传教之需向中国输入了大量的西洋绘画。西洋绘画的输入对中国传统画风产生了重要影响,画坛上开始出现传统绘画与西洋绘画相融合的新局面。“西画东传”是明清时期中西文化交流的重要内容。
In the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, Jesuits imported a large amount of Western paintings into China because of their missionary needs. The input of Western painting exerted an important influence on the traditional Chinese style of painting, and the new phase of the integration of traditional painting and Western painting began to appear on the art world. “Painting the East” is an important part of the Sino-Western cultural exchanges during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
