为表现公元1840年至今,中国人民波澜壮阔的反帝、反封建、反殖民主义和社会主义革命、建设的伟大历史,文化部和财政部将联合实施国家重大历史题材美术创作工程。计划在2008年之前,集中创作完成100幅(件)具有民族史诗性质的,能够与伟大时代相匹配的大型美术作品。2005年1月19日,国家重大历史题材美术创作工程领导小组及艺术委员会第一次全体会议在文化部召开,标志着国家重大历史题材美术创作工程开始全面实施。
In order to show the magnificent history of anti-imperialism, anti-feudalism, anti-colonialism, and socialist revolution and construction of the Chinese people since the 1840 AD, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Finance jointly implement the project of creating major historical themes in the Chinese arts. It is planned that 100 pieces of large-scale art works of a national epic nature capable of matching the great era will be completed by 2008. On January 19, 2005, the first plenary session of the leading group for arts creation projects and the art committee of the major historical themes was held in the Ministry of Culture, marking the beginning of the full implementation of the art creation project of major historical themes in the country.
