《红色英勇勋章》堪称美国文学史上的一部经典作品。小说一反美国战争的浪漫主义传统,真实再现了战争对人心理的巨大影响,暴露出战争荒诞不经的实质。本文运用自然主义的理论,对小说中的人物形象亨利的心理变化进行阐释并分析了小说的主题。小说通过主人公面对战争的心理变化表达了作者对于社会现实和个人价值的解读。
“Red Heroes Medal” called a classic in the history of American literature. The fictional anti-American tradition of romanticism truly reflects the tremendous influence of the war on human psychology and reveals the essence of the absurdity of the war. This article uses the theory of naturalism to explain the psychology changes of the character Henry in the novel and analyzes the theme of the novel. The novel expresses the author’s interpretation of social reality and personal value through heroes’ psychological changes in the war.
