Four experiments were conducted in the three-year period (1988-91), evaluating the use of autumn drought stress to reduce the low flowering and low yields of Israeli lychee fields. In all experiments, the autumn drought stress significantly increased the flowering density and yield of “Mauritius” and “Florida” varieties. Water shortage adversity 6 weeks of autumn, limited winter rainfall sufficient to affect these changes.
