聚乙烯醇、硼酸及碘于盐酸水溶液中能形成蓝色复合物。在Ｃｄ（Ⅱ）的存在下，该复合物的吸光度值降低，且 降低的程度与Ｃｄ（Ⅱ）的含量成正比。用此法测定工业废水中的Ｃｄ（Ⅱ），结果令人满意。
Polyvinyl alcohol, boric acid and iodine in aqueous hydrochloric acid to form a blue complex. In the presence of Cd (II), the absorbance value of the complex decreased, and the degree of reduction was proportional to the content of Cd (II). The determination of Cd (Ⅱ) in industrial wastewater by this method is satisfactory.
