1925年9月,冯玉祥国民军第二师刘郁芬开赴甘肃途经宁夏。当时在该部做政治宣传工作的共产党员宣侠父、钱清泉等同志,沿途在宁夏平罗、银川、宁朔、中卫等地,进行革命宣传活动。他们是最早在银川活动过的共产党员,在群众中留下了深刻的影响。刘郁芬在银川时,多次到五中八师给师生讲话,宣传国民革命,并向学校捐款赠书办了图书馆。图书馆成立后,定名为“兰江图书馆”(注:兰江“是刘郁芬的字),购买了进步书刊供学生阅读。鲁迅、蒋光慈、钱杏(?)等进步作家的作品和《新青年》等报刊,在青年学生中很有影响。
In September 1925, Feng Yuxiang, the second division of the Nationalist Army, went to Gansu via Ningxia. After the founding of the library, it was renamed as ”Lanjiang Library“ (Note: ”Lanjiang“ is the word of Liu Yufen) and purchased progressive books for students to read. The works of progressive writers such as Lu Xun, Jiang Guangci and Qian Xing (?) And ”new youth" and other newspapers and magazines, very influential in young students.
