台湾眷村不是一个村。上世纪四五十年代,为了安排自大陆各省迁徙至台湾的国民党军及其眷属,兴建了一批房舍。这些小社区分布在台湾各地,被统称为“眷村”。这里曾经是外省人最大的家,半个多世纪的光阴在此被浓缩成余光中笔下的《乡愁》。
Taiwan’s military village is not a village. In the 1940s and 1950s, a number of houses were built in order to arrange for KMT troops and their dependents who have been relocated to Taiwan from various mainland provinces. These small communities are distributed throughout Taiwan and are collectively referred to as “dependents”. Here once was the largest home of other provinces and more than half a century’s time was condensed into the “Homesickness” by Yu Guangzhong.
