晚明时期,文艺思潮解放对文人书法、绘画发展产生了积极影响。这一时期的著名剧作家汤显祖亦工书法,有书法墨迹存世。汤翁一生雅好书画收藏,并与董其昌、詹景凤等书画名家均有交谊。本文从汤翁存世书法墨迹着手,探究其书法渊源、性情志趣,并查阅相关史料研究其书画交谊,以期进一步丰富汤翁的艺术人生。
