江苏省南通县共有49个乡镇、145万余人口。该县从1969年开始办村卫生室,建立合作医疗制度,直至1982年底以前,全县乡乡办合作医疗,村村有集体办卫生室,乡村保健医生达到2000多人。此后几年,由于农村经济结构等诸种因素的影响,绝大多数乡镇的村卫生室解体,合作医疗停办。到1989年,全县坚持按“三合”形式办合作医疗只有139个村,占村总数的14.4％;集体办村卫生
Nantong County, Jiangsu Province has a total of 49 townships and a population of 1.45 million. The county started to run a village clinic in 1969 and established a cooperative medical system.
