I. ECONOMIC GROWTH, INVESTMENT AND EMPLOYMENT Singapore’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate dropped from double-digit figures in 1994 to 8.9% in 1995. The main reason for the slowdown in economic growth is that the growth rate of manufacturing industry dropped to 8.1% in the first half of the year and 12.3% in the second half year.
