望海楼初建于南宋绍定二年(1229),是江苏泰州的一座名楼,距今近800年。由于历史的变迁,望海楼屡毁屡建,历史上多位名人为其写过碑文。作为人文泰州重现历史文化古迹的重要举措,2006年6月,望海楼重建,2007年范敬宜应泰州市人民政府之邀为正在重建的望海楼作碑文。在不到600字的文章里,范敬宜描述了泰州的历史、泰州的现在以及重修望海楼的意义,后范敬宜又将此文作了修改。目前这篇文章已入选中学教科书并被誉为现代版的《岳阳楼记》。范敬宜说,他是用“海的语言”来写这篇文章的“。对海的敬畏、对大自然的敬畏以及对大自然客观发展规律的敬畏,我就是带着这样的敬畏之情完成了创作。”2010年11月13日,范敬宜先生因病去世。现将修改后的文章发表于此,以祭范敬宜先生。
Wanghai House was first built in the Southern Song Dynasty Shaoding two years (1229), is a famous building in Taizhou, Jiangsu, nearly 800 years ago.
