The liberation of Prometheus is a famous romantic poet Shelley’s works, originated in the Greek mythology. In this poem, Prometheus is well described as a brave, noble hero of revolutionary optimism, not as a traditional image of a tortured rebel. On the contrary, Zeus, as a tyranny and autocratic ruler, was both brutal and un-compassionate. Shelley used these two images to represent the mass and brutal feudal rulers who were gradually awakened in Europe, especially in England. Fully expressing Shelley’s longing for an ideal, ideal society without class oppression and exploitation.
