Objective To analyze the status of HIV infection in unpaid blood donors in Lanzhou and provide a scientific basis for the development of AIDS prevention and control measures. Methods A retrospective survey of HIV infection and distribution among unpaid blood donors from January 2010 to December 2014 was conducted. Results A total of 46 020 samples were collected from 32 020 donors, 32 814 males and 13 206 females. The ratio of males to females was 2.48:1. Positive HIV was confirmed in 16 of them. The positive rate was 34.8 / 100 000. The positive rate of 16 males , Aged 21-40, mainly peasants and workers, with a high level of education at high school and above, and higher than unmarried marriages. Conclusion The prevalence of HIV infection among unpaid blood donors in Lanzhou is relatively high. The positive numbers confirmed in 2014 are the sum of the past four years. The AIDS epidemic has spread from the high-risk population to the general population, posing a great challenge to the safety of blood supply and blood supply. In response to this situation, blood collection and supply agencies need to be strictly investigated and actively recruited to establish a contingent of blood donors to reduce the risk of HIV transmission through blood.
