真实是新闻的生命。在新闻实践中，相对于一般性报道，舆论监督报道在新闻真实性上要求更高。但事物的复杂性、多样性和无时无刻不在的变动性，决定了新闻真实尤其是舆论监督报道真实性的复杂性和多变性。近年来，一些党报舆论监督报道在真实性上屡遭质疑，甚至屡遭反诉和新闻官司，而且报人败多胜少。
