１９９２～１９９５年，通过室内外人工饲养及田间调查研究，明确了二化螟在辽宁省每年发生两代，但少数个体仅发生１代；同时明确了二化螟的生活史与害虫的为害盛期，第１代幼虫为害盛期为６月中旬至７月中旬，第２代幼虫为害盛期为８月中旬至收获期；观察了二化螟的若干生活习性。
From 1992 to 1995, two generations of rice stem borer (Chilo suppressalis) occurred annually in Liaoning Province through artificial breeding and field investigation, but only a few occurred in a few individuals.
