High-oriented polyethylene (PE) films were prepared by melt drawing method.The results of transmission electron microscopy showed that the ultra-thin PE films prepared by melt-draw method contained a large amount of PE films parallel to the direction of stretching (Edge-on) lamellae.The results of electron diffraction show that the molecular chains in the PE ultra-thin film region are highly oriented in the plane of the film and in the direction of stretching, while the crystallographic a-axis and b-axis are perpendicular Random orientation in the plane of the molecular chain axis.The results of infrared spectroscopy showed that both the molecular chains in the ultra-thin film region and the amorphous region of PE film are oriented along the stretching direction.The infrared results further prove that in the PE ultra-thin film region, The b-axis crystallography is more inclined to lie in the plane of the film, PE ultra-thin film b-axis orientation in the film plane orientation because the b-axis is the fastest growing PE crystal growth direction of the PE molecule chain formation The local C-C skeletal planes tend to be parallel to the film plane.
