In the 1950s, the People’s Liberation Army set a tall heroic image in people’s minds. Everyone praised the volunteers for being the “most lovely person.” Many of today’s young people have joined the People’s Liberation Army or the volunteer army with envy, admiration and love. Young boys both “newborn calves are not afraid of the tiger” vitality, but also has a “brave knight of me” childlike. They cultivated in the revolutionary university schools, tempered in the melting pot of revolution, the baptism of war, the test of artillery fire, created a new generation with the characteristics of the times and unique character. Although I was still in the “standing still” year, I was already a war veteran. “Veterans” and “recruits” live in a barracks, have common ends and enjoy common prosperity and have made profound fighting friendships. I am familiar with their faces, understand their intrinsic qualities, but also know their heart. So I use the tone pen in my hand, outlining their miniature.
