改革开放后,为了大力发展商品经济,邓小平决定广纳贤才,人尽其用。十一届三中全会前,邓小平便与叶剑英商量,准备请荣毅仁“出山”,任全国政协副主席。 1979年1月17日,邓小平在人民大会堂接见了荣毅仁、胡子昂、胡厥文、周叔弢、古耕虞五位原工商界知名人士。在座谈过程中,邓小平以亲切的语调、大胆创新的思维,讲了一番新鲜而精妙的话,力劝荣毅仁“出山”。邓小平说:“听说你们对如何搞好经济建设有很好的意见和建议,我们很高兴。今天就谈谈这个问题。
