Local time On April 17, 2013, an explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer Plant in Texas. The accident killed 15 people and injured more than 260 people. In the accident, the West Fertilizer Plant was completely destroyed, 150 houses outside the factory were damaged, at a loss of about 2.3 billion U.S. dollars. The accident, one of the most serious accidents investigated by the U.S. Commission on Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation (CSB), has been the direct result of the bankruptcy of the West Fertilizer Plant, as measured by the number of casualties.
