1979年3月17日,辽宁丹东纸板厂大火,烧掉稻草、糜秧、大苇、废纸等造纸原料一万六千多吨,损失二百六十五万余元。这场大火是什么原因造成的呢?经过调查、分析,是稻草堆自燃引起的。稻草堆为什么自燃呢?这要从稻草上垛谈起。原来起火的稻草垛是1978年12月26日开始上垛,1979年1月9日垛完的。堆垛时没有检验稻草水份,加之12月和1月连续下了几场雪,稻草比较湿,堆垛稻草的是临时雇的农工,因缺乏检查指导,堆垛通风道留得过小,有的风道因塌陷被堵死,起不到通风散热的作用。因此,草垛在垛完后的五,六天就发热冒气,十五天左右垛顶下
