香叶天竹葵为牻牛儿苗科(Geraceae)植物Pelargonium gra veolens L’Herit,简称香葵。香葵生长于亚热带,原植物产于非洲、欧洲,我国有引种栽培,主产云南、四川等省。新鲜香葵的茎叶,经水蒸汽蒸馏得到香葵油,为淡黄色至深黄色的液体,具有玫瑰和香叶醇特有的香味,广泛用于香料、化妆品和肥皂工业。近年来挥发油的药用价值,越来越引起国内外的重视。一九七六年上海医药工业研究院在抗肿瘤药物筛选中,发现香葵油有一定的抗肿瘤
