In the early winter of 1999, China’s first manned spacecraft “Shenzhou-1” was launched. After nearly a day in space, it successfully returned to the ground and opened the prelude to China’s manned space flight. Manned space is a vast and magnificent aerospace project, with astronauts at the heart of it. Astronauts not only need to travel safely to and from the ground and space, but also to accomplish complex and difficult tasks in space. Through a variety of scientific experiments, they explore the mysteries of nature beyond the earth, and the acquisition of these new space-based knowledge will, in turn, greatly enhance the human ability to understand and transform the world.
