俄国科学家德米特里·伊凡诺维奇·門捷列夫,对科学上的贡献是很大的,尤其是他所發現的週期律和他所創制的週期表是他突出的功绩。所以恩格斯和斯大林曾給以很高的評价:“門捷列夫……所完成科学上的功績,可以和列維里叶算出街未知道的行星——海王星的軌道的發現相提並論”(恩袼斯);“門捷列夫的‘元素週期系’明白指出,从量变到質变的發生,在自然历史中具有多么大的意义”(斯大林)。又如拉科夫斯基也曾提:“列維里叶和亚当斯發現海王星,是根据了看到的天王星运行的不規則性,以及依据了公認的牛頓定律。
The Russian scientist Dmitry Ivanovich Mendeleev made a great contribution to science, especially his periodic law and the periodic table he created were his outstanding achievements.
