从来没有像2009年这样,中国的出版商真切地感受到全球化带来的压力和新动力。一方面,海外出版业者看重中国数亿读者的庞大市场和强劲购买力,纷纷试图把从小说到工具书的各种图书带入中国;另一方面,中国的出版商也看到了一个有着完善的版权保护可以获得更高利润并赢得更广泛读者的新英语世界,可以试图把他们在国内的畅销书打入国际市场。而这一切,国内外行业和市场的沟通和了解,无疑是这一切假设的实际桥梁。从2010年开始,本刊特邀在英国做媒体研究的李爽女士主持本专栏,解析英语市场特别是英国图书市场的最新动向和深度分析,力图为国内出版界的有心人士提供一个“看出去”的角度。
