给出了根据100~400km距离范围记录的地震仪器观测结果(垂直分量)估计M<6地震事件矩震级(M)的一个简单可靠方法。使用这里我们提供的简单关系式,可以根据北美洲地震事件的1Hz响应谱振幅估计M,大多数区域的不确定度(残差的标准差)小于0.2个单位。该方法的优点是可以对M做跨区域的一致性估计,并且提供的关系与典型区域衰减模型的随机点源模型的预测结果一致。
A simple and reliable method to estimate the moment magnitude (M) of M <6 earthquake event is given based on the observation results of seismic instruments (vertical component) recorded in the range of 100 ~ 400 km. Using the simple relationship we provide here, we can estimate M based on the 1 Hz response spectrum amplitude for North American seismic events, with less than 0.2 units of uncertainty (the standard deviation of the residuals) for most areas. The advantage of this method is that it is possible to estimate the cross-regional consistency of M and provide the same relationship with the prediction of the random point source model of a typical regional attenuation model.
