寄主是紫胶生产的物质基础。泡夜合是四川重要的紫胶寄主。根据现有资料统计,四川的紫胶虫寄主植物中,生产上使用较多的有泡夜合、山合欢、黄檀。其中泡夜合占十分重要的地位。 通过近两年调查,泡夜合是合欢属的另一个种或变种,在四川自然分布的几种夜合中,泡夜合的小叶对数较多,羽梗通常6—10对,在复叶总轴(总叶柄)上,下部都有一个10分明显的盘状腺体,盘周突起,中部凹(?),盘呈椭园形,四周轮廓界线十分清楚。
