白天光的小说透过现实、历史和人性的诸多途径,负载了风俗画卷一般的生命情态和内涵。其中渗透着民俗风韵、乡土文化的气息还有个性化人物的丰富光彩。他的作品重返中国小说的古典叙事风范,并且兼具现代生活的感性意识,透射出丰厚朴实的乡土本色、民生情态和风俗史底蕴。本文力图通过对这位作家一系列中短篇小说的量化研究,意在彰显其创作中业已形成的在幽默、戏仿和拼贴里勾勒转型期中国民间社会的诸多悲喜剧现象的视角、特色和才华,进而展开挖掘这位作家不平凡的艺术追求的精神境界还有其作品中显见的缺憾和弱点。
