大白菜出苗期要求较高的土壤湿度。土壤干旱,种子不易萌发,即使萌动也很容易出现“芽干”死苗。所以播种要求土壤墒情要好,播后要喷水,保持畦面湿润,保证出苗。幼苗期正值高温干旱季节,为了降温防病要勤浇水,保持土壤湿润,防止土壤干裂、撕裂根系、感染软腐病和病毒病。一般要求3～4天浇水1次,做到“三水齐苗,五水定棵”。
