Clay Martin (1914) is a very active Canadian woman writer in the 1960s, and was the chairman of the Canadian Writers Association. She was among the first writers to bring women and love issues to Québec literature in Quebec-influenced French-speaking Quebec. At the age of 44, she published her first collection of short stories, “Is There Love,” (1958), and is therefore considered a man of a literary student who is more mature in thought. “Need is to create the mother” is selected from this episode. The author takes the form of an allegory and draws on a satirical and playful tone the caricature of a capitalist “consumer society.” Her works are well known for their language refinement and exposure to social issues. Her autobiographical novels “In Iron Gloves” (1965) and “Cheeks” (1966), as well as “The Dead” (19 70 years) and so on.
