Two famous American writers, Alan Ginsberg and Gary Snyder of the “Beat Generation,” attracted the attention of China and the United States Writers’ Conference held in Beijing in October last year. Two years ago, the Sino-American writer conference was held in Los Angeles. They also attended. I have heard about their situation and anecdotes. The description of Ginsburg, in particular, reminds me of those “mad” and “weird” poets who have historically been cynical and uninhibited in our history. When a U.S. foreign court in Beijing heard that Ginsburg was coming, he felt a bit worried that he would not be able to deviate from it. Not to mention anything else, even if only pulling his accordion in the street, singing, it is enough lively.
