The design equation Wu shows how to employ Stahl’s active compensator to extend the bass response of existing open (inverted) loudspeaker systems. This method improves the low-frequency characteristics even further than Keele’s descent method. This article cites an example that shows the features of an existing B_6 speaker system can be improved without the need to make major changes to the cabinet.
